Description and use
The immobilization corset reduces lower back pain associated with sciatica or other back injuries.
• 3.2 mm thick thermoformable plastic bib with perforations up to D6.
• Radiolucent material.
For lower back conditions that may benefit from movement restriction, including the following:
• Sciatica, cruralgia in the acute phase.
• Lumbar trauma (slight compression).
• Chronic and disabling lower back pain.
• Stabilization after surgery.
Precautions for use:
• The device should not be used in individuals for whom compression is contraindicated.
• Patients with pelvic floor weakness should consult their doctor before using the orthosis.
• The orthosis must not be placed in direct contact with damaged skin.
• The device contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions.
• Do not wear for prolonged periods without medical supervision.
• This orthosis is a device for single-patient use. Do not reuse on multiple patients.
• This product is heat sensitive: never expose it to sunlight, place it on a radiator or attempt to modify it without using the applicator.
• If any problem occurs while using this orthosis, remove the device and contact your doctor.
• If any serious incident occurs, related to the device, the healthcare professional and/or the patient must report it to the manufacturer and to the competent authority in the country concerned.
• Weaning should be gradual with possible association of functional rehabilitation.
Adaptation:
A fitting is mandatory for adaptation and a good understanding of the fitting. The first fitting will be carried out by a healthcare professional and later by a person close to the patient according to the same protocol.
• The adaptation must be carried out by a qualified applicator. Any need for adjustments can then be highlighted: pressure on the floating ribs, excessive pressure or detachment at the sacrum, etc.
• It is possible to adapt the plastic by modifying the curvature after heating with a hair dryer or hot air gun (sweeping between 1 and 3 minutes depending on the power of the device).
• It is not recommended to modify the central part of the corset (stiffening curvature).
Set up :
This device is intended to be worn between clothing and underwear.
The plastic frame should be worn over cotton underwear.
1. Unhook the thigh straps from the breastplate
2. Open the breastplate using the central closure
3. Put on the suspenders
4. Close the central part of the breastplate using moderate pressure.
5. Adjust
6. Distribute the restraint using the 3 tightening straps (2 on the left and 1 on the right)
7. Adjust the straps using their hooked ends on the breastplate
8. Position the under-thighs by attaching the crochet fabric part to the velvet fabric of the breastplate
Maintenance and conservation:
• Keep the orthosis away from excessive heat sources (radiator, tumble dryer, etc.).
• Hand wash in warm soapy water (maximum 40°C); rinse thoroughly; wring gently; do not bleach; dry flat, do not tumble dry; do not iron; do not dry clean.
• Dispose of the device and its packaging in accordance with local or national environmental regulations.
