Description and use
The Genugib® Open knee brace protects and relieves knee pain in cases of severe or moderate sprains. It is also recommended for use during rehabilitation. The Genugib® Open is easy to put on thanks to its full front opening.

Precautions for use:
• The orthosis should not be used in cases where the pathology requires relative or absolute immobilization or surgical intervention.
• Do not wear for prolonged periods without medical supervision.
• The orthosis must not be placed in direct contact with damaged skin.
• This orthosis is a device for single-patient use. Do not reuse on multiple patients.
• When adjusting the straps, adjust to obtain a firm but comfortable fit.
• If any problem occurs while using this orthosis, for example pain or the appearance of local symptoms, remove the orthosis and contact your healthcare professional.
• If any serious incident occurs in connection with the device, the user and/or patient must report it to the manufacturer and to the competent authority in the country concerned.

Set up :
A fitting is mandatory for proper adaptation and a good understanding of the installation. The initial installation will be performed by a healthcare professional and subsequently by the user or someone close to them according to the same protocol. The device can be worn over or under pants.

During the fitting, the applicator will have to conform, if necessary, the joints of the orthosis to adapt it to your morphology.

The device is placed in the correct direction when the GIBAUD logo is in front and at the top.
1. Loosen the two rear straps and fold the hook-and-loop part over the straps.
2. Unfasten the two front straps and fold the hook-and-loop part over the straps.
3. Open the orthosis completely.
4. Make sure to place the two blue patellar half-rings on either side of the patella and close the self-gripping opening/closing means, starting with the bottom one (see the illustrative diagram).
5. The order of closing the straps is done by following the numbering (from 1 to 4) indicated by point(s) in the circles (see the illustrative diagram).
6. Tighten the straps to obtain a firm but comfortable fit.

Maintenance and conservation:
• Keep the orthosis away from excessive heat sources.
• Hand wash in warm soapy water (maximum 40°C); rinse thoroughly; wring gently; do not bleach; dry flat, do not tumble dry; do not iron; do not dry clean.
• Dispose of the device and its packaging in accordance with local or national environmental regulations.
